The Wesley Foundation is the United Methodist campus ministry at Jackson State University and is open to all students and staff. 

Jackson State University Wesley's mission is simple: 

JSU Wesley is committed to preparing students 

to live out the Christian faith in their life choices through personal and professional leadership by offering Bible study, fellowship, prayer, worship, leadership development, and service, on the campus and in the community. Our S.W.A.G. is built around Service, Worship, Apprenticeship, and Growth.

Reverend Kevin Kosh

Campus Minister and Wesley Foundation Director 

     Rev. Kevin Kosh Jr. joined Jackson State University in June 2019 to serve as the Campus Minister and Director of the JSU Wesley Foundation. a native of St. Louis, Missouri, is a 2012 graduate of Rust College in Holly Springs, MS, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, and a 2014 graduate of Gammon Theological Seminary in Atlanta, GA, where he received his Master of Divinity degree. As he answers his call to ministry in the United Methodist church, Kosh also has plans to pursue a doctorate.

     At Rust College, Kosh was an active student leader. He served terms as the Vice President and Budget Director of the Student Government Association, and was a part of the 2008-2009 Championship Quiz Bowl Team and a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. 

     While in seminary, Kosh served as a student minister in Atlanta, Georgia. Following seminary, he served as Director of the Alcorn State University Wesley Foundation, Lorman, Mississippi. Then from 2016 - 2019, Rev. Kosh served as the College Chaplain and Professor of Religion at his alma mater, Rust College, where the ministry grew and flourished, leaving a positive impact on the campus, the community and all those it serves. He is looking forward to time with students at Jackson State University to set up spiritual formation activities including times for prayer, Wednesday night worship, small group Bible studies, and special events with Residential Life, as well as special campus and community-oriented programs. 

     Rev. Kosh is an avid reader, writer and social justice advocate. His motto is “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding, and in all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy path” (Proverbs 3:5-6). While you will likely find Rev. Kosh in the Student Center or Library where the students are, his office is located in Jacob L. Reddix Hall, Suite 110 (Center for Service and Career Services Suite).
